Linsey L.
Life Purpose Statement
I am steadfast integrity, consistently standing as stability and hope for a million good things.
As you progressed through the coaching journey, how did it change things for you?
It changed everything from work tasks, relationships and goals, to personal relationships and goals. Coaching shifted my perception of control. It challenged me to take control and ownership of my development and gave me tools to do so.
What strengths do you feel you have deepened an understanding of from the experience of coaching?
I have deepened my understanding of my strengths, even of strengths previously viewed as weaknesses, such as learner, input, intellection, as well as my DISC style of ‘C’. I have been able to practice and be creative in using strengths and my natural leadership style to accomplish goals at work and at home.
What new strategies have you developed as a result of coaching?
One of the most useful strategies has been embracing permission to fail. Once I released the need to succeed in all attempted endeavors I was able to set tangible goals, creative goals, difficult and challenging goals, as well as analyze and measure them without fear of failure attached.
How did you surprise yourself through coaching?
When I began coaching, I didn’t trust myself in most things. I was most surprised by how much my self-trust grew as I worked on recognizing choices and setting lofty goals, making progress in these goals and becoming more confident. To compare my self-trust now with where I began, I never would have imagined the progress.
What do you see as the major insights or breakthroughs you made through coaching?
The hyper achiever saboteur is not serving me, it is holding me back, and, it is a choice to indulge or not.
I can trust myself because trust is not based on perfection and competence. I trust myself to be resilient, resourceful, and capable.
What was the thing you benefited from the most in coaching?
Accountability, space to try and fail and try again, and encouragement.
What will you now do differently?
I will trust myself rather than fear failure. I will use the tools I acquired to overcome anxiety to move forward making choices.
You know my life’s purpose is to radiantly illuminate passionate possibilities for you to live empowered. How was I radiant?
You own your life’s purpose so completely that your values “radiate” off of you. You clearly value the people you work with and being in service of them. Because you so completely radiate your values, I have never doubted that you were in service of me and valued the coaching relationship.
What was illuminated?
You illuminate the best in others. Through your intuition and coaching you illuminate the possibilities present in the people who coach with you. As someone who coached with you, I was always more keenly aware of the possibilities within myself in your presence.
Where did you connect to passion? Where did you see me connecting to passion?
Passion is contagious and cyclical. Your passion for being in service of me and my goals and development lit passion within me to also adamantly pursue my own development and believe in the possibilities, which in turn noticeably fueled your passion for continuing to coach.
What’s possible because of coaching with me?
Anything. If I want to do or be something, I can.
What does living empowered mean to you?
I have within myself everything I need to do what I want to do and be who I want to be.
What 3 adjectives would you use to describe Mara?
Intuitive, Intelligent, Invested (promise I didn’t mean for them to all start with ‘I’)
What would you say to people thinking of working with me?
Be ready to take charge of positive change in your work and life. You will discover depths of yourself you didn’t know existed (or haven’t practiced accessing). You will be challenged, supported, encouraged, and challenged some more, and, most of it will be coming from within you. Be ready to set some lofty goals professional and person, and, be ready to meet them or change them. Anything is possible.
