Mentors, Mara, and “The Ask”
A couple weeks ago I was at a business event and met someone who I felt an instant connection to and was also impressed with. I came home and told my husband and best friend that this individual was going to be my mentor. They didn't know it yet, and I did.
I made “The Ask” and now have a new mentor. In addition to me being super happy and excited to be grown, the individual I asked was touched and is looking forward to our relationship as well; a win win.
On another note, I have been researching Brené Brown’s The Daring Way Certification. In my research I looked up the people in Colorado who are already certified because I wanted to speak to one of them. There are 5 people in Colorado, and one of them is named Mara. Ironic. A message from the universe perhaps!
I made “The Ask” and Mara agreed to meet with me. I had a wonderful meeting today with Mara learning about The Daring Way and how it might serve my clients, and me as an individual, coach, and leader. I also learned about Mara and the meaningful work she does in her therapy practice. She is clearly a genuine, authentic, insightful, powerful, passionate, and wholehearted human being who is empowering and inspiring others to own their stories. If you are in the Denver metro area and have been thinking about a therapist, think about Mara. If you’re familiar with Brené Brown’s work, or not, and have been wanting the tools and space to own your story and step into the arena of life and Dare Greatly, then I highly recommend you take the Daring Workshop with Mara (her next session starts in September). If you go this year, take the workshop with Mara Kormylo. If you go next year, you will hopefully have the opportunity to take it with me. And, who knows, maybe you’ll have the opportunity to take it with Mara and Mara. Crazier things have happened.
I may make “The Ask” on that too!
I wonder where in your life you need to make "The Ask"?
